Vitamin B12
Vitamin B12 is essential for nerve function, DNA synthesis, and neurotransmitter metabolism, and deficiency can cause fatigue, neuropathy, and cognitive or mood changes that supplementation reverses. In people who are not deficient, however, extra B12 has not been shown to boost energy, mood, or cognition. Deficiency is common in older adults, vegans, and those on certain medications.
